John Beaman has been named vice president of finance at Adventist Health, according to Doug Rebok, senior vice president and CFO of the health care system. Beaman will succeed Jim Brewster, who will retire late next month. Beaman will relocate to the Roseville office at the end of the year. During the month of January he will continue to support Simi Valley Hospital on a part-time basis while he orients to his new role.
“We are blessed to have someone of John’s capabilities join us in Roseville,” said Rebok. “His diversified experience in multiple health care systems and roles will allow him to make significant contributions to the continued success of Adventist Health.”
Currently, Beaman is the CFO at Simi Valley Hospital, a 188-bed Adventist Health hospital in Southern California. While in this position, John helped the hospital achieve a financial improvement of $7.8 million annually.
Previously, Beaman was CFO for hospitals in other health care systems, such as Centura Health; HCA, Inc.; and Tenet Healthcare Corporation, as well as serving as CFO at San Joaquin Community Hospital, the Adventist Health facility in Bakersfield. He has also held positions at our sister corporation, Adventist Health System.
Beaman holds a bachelor’s degree in Accounting from Southwestern Adventist University. He is currently pursuing a MBA with emphasis in finance from Marylhurst University, which he expects to finish next year.
In addition to his health care experience, Beaman is a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives and the Healthcare Financial Management Association.
Beaman and his wife, Summer, have four children, Bryce, Breckin, Braeden and Bryn. They enjoy spending time together in the great outdoors.
