Adventist Medical Center Institutes Recycling Program
Adventist Medical Center recently debuted a new recycling program in an effort to be more sustainable and make a positive impact on the environment. The hospital is working to reduce waste by recycling, using biodegradable products and donating unused items. These green practices will lower energy bills, reduce waste and achieve a healthier community. Some examples of the hospital’s green practices include, eliminating Styrofoam cups, plates and bowls from the Garden Café; recycling cardboard food packaging; and reducing film consumption by going digital and using the PACS system to send images to physicians rather than deliver printed copies.
