Adventist Health Prepares to Open New Hospital

Adventist Health’s Central Valley Network is preparing to open its new hospital in December. A special dedication ceremony was recently held at the new Adventist Medical Center-Hanford for employees across the network. Along with hospital staff, community members joined pastors, area leaders, politicians, dignitaries, physicians, former Adventist Health CEOs and other corporate executives as they dedicated and blessed the new medical center and pavilion.

Closing and transition celebrations also were held at Hanford Community Medical Center and Central Valley General Hospital. At these events, employees shared memories and celebrated by symbolically tying two ribbons together representing the transition to AMC-H.

Training and preparations for the move are ongoing in anticipation of a December 5 opening. At that time, several other changes will take place throughout the network. HCMC will be renamed Adventist Health/Central Valley Network-Support Services and will house business and support services. In addition, Medical/Surgical and ER services at CVGH will move to AMC-H. However, CVGH will continue to provide OB services, which will expand to the second floor of that facility and include private rooms. In addition, Selma Community Hospital will become Adventist Medical Center-Selma in 2011.
